Frequently asked questions
The offer and the price
Is the website really free?
The design and build are free: there is no upfront design or development fee. You pay £29.99 + VAT per month for the managed hosting, maintenance, backups, security and support that keep the website running. We say both parts in the same breath deliberately: a monthly charge you discover later is not a free website.
Why are you doing this?
Because we want the relationship, not a large one-off invoice. Leverage Digital is operated by Leverage Digital Limited, part of an established UK digital agency group with years of website, advertising and SEO work behind it. The monthly service builds a long-term customer base, and we hope some customers later choose optional services such as SEO, advertising, branding or print. Those services are never a condition of the offer.
What does £29.99 + VAT per month pay for?
Managed UK hosting, an SSL certificate, WordPress, theme and plugin maintenance, regular backups, security monitoring and technical support. It is the entire ongoing cost of the standard service.
Is there an upfront fee?
No. There is no upfront design or development fee for the standard website package.
What is the 10-day review and approval period?
We design and build your website first. When your first preview is ready we send a private preview link and confirm in writing the exact date your 10-calendar-day review and approval period ends. During it you can review the website and request changes within your two structured amendment rounds. The website stays on a private preview environment and is not published on your domain until you approve it. Decline in writing before the deadline and no subscription payment is taken. Approve it and the managed hosting, maintenance and support subscription begins on the approval and launch date. Nothing is charged to apply or to have the consultation.
What happens if I do not reply before the review deadline?
If you have already accepted the agreement and authorised recurring payments, and you neither approve nor decline before the stated deadline, the website is treated as approved at the end of the 10-day period and the managed service subscription begins. We will send reminders before the deadline so it does not creep up on you.
How is the first payment worked out?
Your first payment is prorated from the subscription start date to the end of that calendar month, so you only pay for the days you actually have. After that, the full £29.99 + VAT is collected automatically on the first day of each month.
Is there a minimum contract?
No. It is a monthly managed service you can cancel at any time, with no minimum term.
Does every applicant get accepted?
No, and that is deliberate. We review every application to ensure the standard package suits the business. Projects needing ecommerce, bespoke software or complex integrations are better served by a separate, honest quotation.
What businesses do you not accept?
Projects that need substantial custom functionality inside the free package, businesses that cannot provide accurate company information, projects involving copied content or unlicensed imagery, and anything unclear or unlawful. We explain the reason when a project is not a fit.
Cancellation, ownership and your account
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. You can cancel the managed service whenever you choose, there is no compulsory contract term.
What happens if I cancel?
It is a monthly managed service with no minimum term. Cancel anytime and hosting and management end at the end of your paid month, when the website comes offline, as with any hosting subscription. You owe nothing further.
Do I own the website?
While you subscribe, the website is part of the managed service we host and look after for you, like any website subscription. The ownership terms are set out in your customer agreement.
Is it built on a platform I could be locked into?
No. It is a standard WordPress and Elementor build, not a proprietary builder only one company can run. Anything about moving or exporting the site is set out in your customer agreement.
Who owns the domain?
Wherever practicable your domain should be registered to you, the customer. We will never use your domain as leverage to keep you as a client.
How do I cancel?
Contact our support team and we will process the cancellation from the end of your paid period. When the customer portal is live you will also be able to manage this from your account.
How do I update my payment details?
Contact support and we will send a secure link to update your payment method. Card details are handled by our payment provider, we never ask for them by email or over the phone.
What happens if a payment fails?
We will contact you to sort it out, cards expire and banks decline things; it happens. The service agreement sets out the process if a payment remains unresolved.
The build, pages and content
Is the website built in WordPress?
Yes, a real WordPress website built with Elementor, hosted in a normal hosting environment. It is the same platform used by a large share of the world’s websites, which is exactly why we use it: it is portable, editable and not locked to us.
Is it an AI website builder?
No. It is a real WordPress website produced through a human-led process. We may use modern tools internally to work efficiently, but you speak with a real person, review the website before launch and receive a standard WordPress build rather than a locked AI-builder account.
Is it a template?
No. We use a professional WordPress and Elementor production system, but your structure, content, services, calls to action and visual presentation are adapted around your business. It is a bespoke build, we do not buy a theme template and drop your logo on it.
How many pages are included?
Up to 15 standard pages where your business genuinely needs them. We recommend the structure that suits the business rather than padding the site out to reach a number, most small-business sites work best with eight to twelve well-planned pages.
What is a standard page?
A page made of headings, written content, images you supply or that are appropriately licensed, service details, calls to action, standard contact forms, maps, galleries, testimonials, FAQs and reusable content sections. It does not mean a bespoke web application or a completely separate design concept per page.
Are ecommerce websites included?
Online shops and checkout are not part of the standard free build. If you need ecommerce, tell us in your application, we will explain the options and provide a separate quotation where appropriate.
Can you add a booking system?
Complex booking systems are outside the standard scope. Depending on what you need, there may be a simple approach (such as an enquiry form or a link to a booking tool you already use), or we can quote separately for something more involved.
How quickly will the website be ready?
We aim to share a first working preview within roughly 48–72 working hours of receiving all the required information and assets. Overall time to launch mostly depends on how quickly content and feedback come back to us.
How many revisions are included?
Up to two structured amendment rounds before launch. A round is one consolidated list of reasonable changes rather than an open-ended stream of individual requests. New scope or functionality is quoted separately.
Do I need to write the content?
No, we draft and structure the content from the information you provide, and a human reviews it before you see it. You know your business better than anyone, so the more raw material you give us (services, typical jobs, what customers ask), the better the result.
Do I need professional photographs?
No, but good photos help. Real photographs of your work, team or premises nearly always beat stock imagery. If you have nothing usable, we will discuss sensible options during the consultation.
What if I do not have a logo?
Tell us in the application. Logo design is available as an optional service, and we will discuss the options during your consultation. A missing logo does not stop you applying.
Can you redesign my existing website?
Yes, replacing outdated, broken or embarrassing websites is one of the main reasons this offer exists. We rebuild it as a fresh WordPress and Elementor site under the same terms: no upfront build fee, £29.99 + VAT per month.
Can I keep my existing domain and email?
Yes. Your domain stays yours, and we will help point it at the new website. Existing email services are not disturbed by the standard build, tell us your setup during the consultation so we can plan around it.
SEO, email and technical questions
Is SEO included?
Foundational on-page SEO is included: sound structure, sensible titles and headings, and Google Analytics and Search Console setup where access is supplied. Competitive, ongoing SEO, content, authority building, local optimisation, is a separate optional service.
Will the website rank first on Google?
No responsible agency can guarantee a number-one ranking, and you should be wary of anyone who does. The website ships with sound technical foundations; how far it climbs depends on competition, content, reputation and ongoing work.
Will the website generate leads?
The site is structured to explain your business clearly and make enquiries easy, that is what a website can control. Traffic and leads also depend on demand, competition, advertising and the strength of your offer. We can help with those separately if and when you want it.
Are email accounts included?
Business email is not part of the free website package, but we can register your domain and set up professional email on it for a small additional charge, handling all the technical detail for you. Tell us what you need during the consultation and we will confirm the exact costs before anything is set up.
Can I update the site myself?
Yes. Elementor is a visual, point-and-click editor: you click on text or an image and change it, with no code involved. It is used on millions of websites, so the skill transfers anywhere and you are not learning one company’s in-house tool. Your monthly service also includes us making changes for you, so most customers do a bit of both. We will set up your access during onboarding.
Can another agency work on it later?
It is a standard WordPress and Elementor build, so any competent WordPress agency can work on it. Building in WordPress rather than a closed platform is deliberate; the specifics of moving the site are set out in your customer agreement.
Question answered?
If the model sounds fair, the next step takes a few minutes and costs nothing.
